So, you missed out on the Windows 10 Free Upgrade Deadline and now you’re desperate? Fear not, where there is will, there’s a way! You can still get the free upgrade from windows 7 and windows 8, no worries (but we don’t know for how long dough).
In order to qualify for this “new” method, you need to use assistive technologies, such as a magnifier to better see the screen, the narrator, keyboard shortcuts or on-screen keyboard.
The free upgrade was a huge move by Microsoft to push Windows 10, and rebuild the company market position. But it all ended on Friday, and since then people will have to pay $119 for the Home edition and $199 for the Pro edition. But then there’s the assistive tech users exception!
So here is how to get your free upgrade:
From you Windows 7 or 8 device go to this page Windows 10 free upgrade for customers who use assistive technologies. Click on the Upgrade Now button, and run the executable file to install the upgrade.
After that, a series of screens will take through the step by step setup process, just follow the steps until you’re at windows 10! At no point, will Microsoft ask you to provide proof that you use any assistive technologies, so the upgrade seems to be accessible to any Windows 7 or 8 user.
Until now, Microsoft has not announced a deadline for the free offer to the specified users, so is grab it while it lasts. Microsoft has a note on the site that says it will make a public announcement prior to the ending of the offer.
