Landing of spacecraft on Mars for 2022

Elon Musk who plans to colonize Mars, announced in February this year that in 2018 would take two space tourists on a trip around the moon.

The owner of SpaceX plans to land two life-sustaining cargo ships on Mars for future voyages. This plan aims to colonize the planet Mars and all this is planned for only five years from now.

“It is not a mistake, although it is ambitious”, said Elon Musk at the International Congress of Astronautics in Australia, noting that the ships with crew would be sent as early as 2024.

According to CNN, SpaceX will start building the first spacecraft next year 2018. The businessman also revealed that the ship will be called Big Falcon Rocket (BFR), and will have capacity for 100 crew, who will travel in 40 cabins with access to large communal areas and entertainment system.

One of Musk’s major goals is to make BFR reusable in order to significantly reduce launch costs. Other ambitions for this ship are that it can clear space by capturing space junk that orbits the Earth, and also travel on our planet between cities in an incredible short time.

SpaceX also plans to have a lunar base, Moon Base Alpha, that would allow any rocket to land.

“We are in 2017, we should have a lunar base at this time”, said Elon Musk.

The company, competing with Lockeed Martin (LMT), also attended the congress in Australia and presented the plan for the Mars Base Campus, which is being developed for NASA. This initiative would be a mobile space habitat that will work in conjunction with the Orion spacecraft, which participates in deep space missions with crew.

The LMT also said that it is planned to build and ship to Mars, the space base, all this in about 10 years. Unlike SpaceX, it does not want to colonize the red planet.
