The King is back, and will take the throne: meet the OnePlus 6

Last May 16th, the Chinese Startup OnePlus introduced the smartphone that will likely be the new king in the android market, the OnePlus 6 and has even said too that it might as well be the King of the smartphones, with several experts in the field considering it as a serious candidate to the smartphone of the year.

Anyone who knows OnePlus, knows that the brand has always surprised us with incredible devices surpassing not only their previous models (although they have been lately launching a new model every 6 months), but also the competition mobile phones, and not even Apple’s smartphones escape from the incredible technological level and quality of construction of this smartphone.

Although OnePlus has already accustomed us to a high level of technology and design to match, this time they went further, and created a simply splendorous smartphone with a perfectly incredible performance and speed for a smartphone, whatever its brand.

OnePlus integrates exclusively into its smartphones the SnapDragon platform by Qualcomm, and this time, as usually, they opted for the top of the range of the communications brand, the SnapDragon 845, this being a processor update from the one found in OnePlus 5 and 5T, the SnapDragon 835. The new version of the processor can reach 4G speeds of up to 1.2Gbps, representing a speed increase of about 20% compared to its predecessor, not only this, but the processor also integrates a 2×2 802.11 ac Wi-Fi device that promises to finally solve the problem that we have all experienced, to have to deal with extreme slowness when using congested wireless networks, and thanks to its two antennas, it becomes practically impossible for the network to fall due to congestion of the connection, in addition to the connection distance being superior to conventional systems.

The new processor also brings support for 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, but not only, it also supports shooting in super slow motion mode, achieving 480 fps in 720p quality and 240 fps in 1080p, allowing you to do some awesome footage.

OnePlus comes with a 3300mAh battery, which may seem small, but thanks to the optimizations of the OxygenOS, nicknamed by the online community as Pure Android, due to the fact of only bringing applications that are really essential, and its proprietary charge technology, the Dash Charge, which allows you to reach the required charge for an entire day in about half an hour, the battery fits its device seamlessly.

As for dimensions, the OnePlus did not increase in external size compared to its predecessors, measuring 155.7mm by 75.4mm and presenting a thickness of 7.5mm and weight of only 177g. Although the brand has maintained the size of the device, it features a new, larger screen with 6.28 inches, and a ratio of 19:9, rendered virtually the entire front of the device to the screen, and the device has now certified protection against splashes.

At the camera level, the OnePlus 6 features a dual camera configuration with the main camera that has 16MP having its sensor increased by about 19% compared to the previous model, thus allowing for greater light input and reducing noise in low-light shots complemented by a 20 MP secondary camera, both of which are produced by Sony, and have both digital and optical image stabilization, something that had been requested by OnePlus fans, and as always the brand heard and fulfilled. Another point on what the brand heard its fans was in the maintenance of the headphone jacket, and it is still present in this new version. In the front display, the OnePlus 6 is equipped with a 16MP camera.

In terms of security, OnePlus has implemented two very safe and appreciated methods by smartphone enthusiasts around the globe, the fingerprint reader, which is located at the back of the smartphone in oval form, and facial recognition unlocking, which can unlock your smartphone in 0.4 seconds (fingerprint unlocking takes only 0.2 seconds).

At the design level, OnePlus bet on a maximization of the screen, with the consequent use of notch, although it has a software option that makes the notch practically invisible, but the great evolution in design of the OnePlus 6, is on the back of the Smartphone, which is now produced entirely in glass, more specifically, Gorilla Corning Glass 5, the same type of material used for the construction of the front-panel digitizer. The glass of the back of the Smartphone, in addition to giving a much more high-end touch to the device, makes it more resistant, as well as allowing a much better capacity of obtaining mobile network and wi-fi by the respective antennas, being presented in bright and matte version, and it will be available in the following colors: Mirror Black, Midnight Black and Mate White.

At the level of versions available, there are essentially 3 versions, the entry level has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and for now is only available in Mirror Black color with a price of 519 €, the second version of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage with a price of 569 €, and the high end version has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and is for now only available in Midnight Black color and will cost 619 €, the smartphone also maintained its dual-sim configuration.
